What rights does a mother have getting full custody?

My friend is going to court for custody decision about her 3 yr old daughter. She now has split custody with her daughter's father, he takes her half the week, & she has her the other half. His live-in girlfriend is absolutely crazy, she swears a lot, screams a lot, she breaks things when she's angry, she starts fights with everyone, she smokes pot every day, she & this little girl's father got pulled over with a DWI & possession of marijuana a while ago. She bad mouths my friend and her roommate on Facebook, sends nasty texts, etc... My friend doesn't do anything back to her. She doesn't drink, smoke, party, she never swears in front of her kids (she also has a 7 yr old son), she takes her kids to church every Sunday, but her ex is an atheist. How do you decide what belief system to go by when both parents have opposite views? My friend is just not ever retaliating. But she wants what's best for her daughter, and doesn't feel that his girlfriend is fit to be an influence around her daughter. Can she get full custody with this info I provided? (NY)

Serious question, will I go to jail for downloading music off of Mediafire through a school-issued laptop?

Long story short, my Dad was taking online classes and was given a laptop. The company said he can keep it and we can do whatever with it. So I downloaded music off of Mediafire. I swear to GOD I didn't know it was illegal. The laptop had blocks for illegal sites like limewire so I thought Mediafire was okay. I downloaded maybe...350 songs? Well it turns out my Dad has to give the laptop back because he didn't finish the program. They said if we have anything saved we can send a flash drive and they'll transfer everything there onto it and send it back OR they can swipe it clean. I'm bugging out right now. My Dad doesn't know about the music and I'm freaking out. I really didn't know it was illegal, my friends told me it was safe and I even read online it was safe. I'm shaking so badly. I really didn't know it was illegal :( If they swipe it clean do you think that they will look at our files and stuff..?

I can't play piano when I'm just a little stressed?

I am 16. I usually LOVE playing piano (classical, romantic era). I'm in lessons and have developped an impressive, relaxed technique and I really enjoy and value classical music. But whenever I am just a little stressed, my technique totaklly crumbles and I can't play my music or even practice right and relaxed. I just stressed me out even more trying to relax and get back my technique. Is this normal? Like I can only play normally and freely and with emotion when theres no stress. It ticks me off.
