Do you think gangbangers are cowards?

I ask this because I got in fight with this dude that is in a gang and I knocked him out but the next day at school him and his "homies" tried to jump me but couldnt because of all the police around. Now I think the problem should be over he wanted to fight and he got a face full of fists. But this dude doesnt let it go ...the question is do you think they are cowards? if so why or why not?
