How long does it take to become happy again after something really bad?

i just got cited for a misdemeanor paraphanalia charge and I feel like my world is crumbling down. i have past charges but nothing recent. hopefully it will blow over with the courts im scared and extremely stressed and extremely depressed. how long do you think it will be before im actually happy because right now, i fell like i will never be happy again in my life
